Small Intestine Cancer: Small intestine cancer is an extremely rare form of cancer that develops within the tissues of the small intestine. Small intestine cancer is amongst the rarest forms of cancer and accounts for less than one percent of total cancer diagnoses in the US. To put this into perspective, out of 100,000 cancer patients, an estimated 2.3 patients



be diagnosed with small intestine cancer. The American cancer society estimates that out of 12440 people that develop small intestine cancer, 2090 will die.


Symptoms of Small Intestine Cancer:

● Abnormal abdominal pain: sudden cramping sensations that can vary in severity, may be worsened after eating

● Blood on stool, could vary in color from bright to dark red, or the stool may be tarry

● Anemia

● A lump in the abdomen

● Nausea, vomiting, constipation, fatigue


Preventative measures:

● Getting regular screenings

● Maintaining a healthy diet

● Increasing physical activity

● Limiting alcohol and tobacco consumption

● Maintain a healthy weight
