Writer: luminaryhopeforcanluminaryhopeforcan

Bile duct cancer, also known as cholangiocarcinoma, forms in the bile ducts that carry bile from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine. It’s a rare but aggressive form of cancer.

Symptoms include jaundice, weight loss, and itchy skin. Risk factors include bile duct inflammation, liver diseases, and exposure to certain chemicals. Early diagnosis is critical for effective treatment.

Treatment for bile duct cancer may include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. In cases where surgery isn't possible, newer treatments like photodynamic therapy and targeted therapies may be considered. Early detection is key to better outcomes.
